Privacy Policy

What we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Last updated: August 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Trivia Ten ("the app," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Trivia Ten is a daily trivia game with accounts, streaks, friends, and leaderboards.

If you have questions about this policy, contact privacy@triviaten.app.

1. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email and password, if you sign up with email.
  • Google or Apple account identifiers, if you sign in with Google or Apple Sign-In. We receive only the basic profile information (such as name/email) those providers share with us — we never see your Google or Apple password.
  • Username and display name you choose during onboarding.

Gameplay data

  • Your quiz answers, scores, correct/incorrect marks, elapsed time per question, streaks, and badges earned.
  • Your device timezone, used only to determine when your next daily puzzle unlocks at your local midnight.

Social data

  • Friend connections (requests sent/accepted), and whichever of your stats (scores, streaks) your privacy settings allow friends or other players to see.

Device & notifications

  • A push notification token and platform (iOS/Android), if you enable notifications, so we can send streak reminders and social nudges (e.g., a friend beat your score). This is only collected if you grant notification permission.

Content you submit

  • Any answer disputes or reports you submit about a question (e.g., "this answer seems wrong"), which may include your account ID and the disputed answer.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information — the app has no in-app purchases or advertising in its current version.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and maintain your account and profile.
  • Deliver your daily puzzle at the correct local time and grade your answers server-side.
  • Track streaks, scores, badges, and rankings.
  • Power friends and leaderboard features.
  • Send optional push notifications you've opted into.
  • Investigate and resolve reported answer disputes.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the game (e.g., enforcing one attempt per puzzle, preventing cheating).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.

3. Who can see your information

  • Your username, and — depending on your privacy settings — your scores, streak, and badges may be visible to your friends and/or on global leaderboards.
  • Friend requests are visible to the sender and recipient.
  • Correct answers to a given puzzle are never shown to you (or exposed to the app's client) until after you submit your own answers, to keep the game fair for everyone.
  • We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

Trivia Ten is built on the following infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and server-side grading logic.
  • Google / Apple — used only if you choose to sign in with those providers (OAuth/Sign-In).
  • Expo / Expo Push Notifications — used to deliver push notifications, if enabled.

We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see below), your data is permanently removed.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Notifications: optional and can be turned off at any time in your device settings or in-app.
  • Privacy toggle: you can control whether friends or the global leaderboard can see your scores.
  • Account deletion: you can permanently delete your account at any time from the app's Profile/Settings screen. This immediately and irreversibly deletes your profile, results, streaks, badges, friendships, devices, and any disputes you've filed — for everyone, not just your own view of it. This action cannot be undone. See our account deletion instructions for step-by-step help.
  • Access/correction: contact us at the email above if you'd like a copy of your data or need to correct it.

7. Children's privacy

Trivia Ten is a general-knowledge trivia game not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including Row-Level Security on our database) to restrict access so that users can only read and modify their own data, and so answer keys are never exposed to clients before submission. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
